Emptying the ash-tray
With your three-day-old rips
You got yourself so high
You bumped your head off spaceships
You said you felt something
And I said it was youth
You shook your head at me
And said you felt the truth
'Well let me see then'
I said with eager fingers
The room is empty now
And still your shook head lingers
I left my trust to rest
In your all-knowing hands
You let me fall gently
Into a million rubber-bands.
'You see' you said neatly
With smiling recognition
And then you faded swiftly
Into an endless repetition
I left your hand down limply
and exhaled into the pipe
Thank you dear I said
But this is my new wife
Leave her behind it said
That numbing draining tooth
Because the only real liars
Are the ones who know the truth

Those who say something is impossible should not interrupt the person doing it
